Registration of New Chemical Substances in Canada
We provide a variety of services for the application of new chemical substances according to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA).
Prior application is required for the import or manufacture of new chemical substances in Canada according to CEPA. If the applicable substance is handled within Ontario (including passing through this state), an application will be required according to the provincial law on occupational safety and hygiene. (If the application is submitted under the Environmental Protection Act, the application for this act can be used.)
Since 2022, substances intentionally released from the manufactured items will also need to be registered.
